I mean really, a time killer? That’s all? No this is actually a weirdly awesome listen, read by mr Coogan himse.. I mean Partridge, yes.

Alan slash Coogan is wonderfully delusional, he’s writing a fictional account of a fictional character writing his fictional memoirs, and by fictional memoirs they are by his own account pretty distorted slash fictional as mentioned previously.. The writing slash reading style brings many comedy elements together, overstating the obvious, disfunction, political incorrectness, bullying, fighting, and of course overstating the obvious. Genuine laugh-out-loud-in-public moments (LOLIP? or laugh out loud in public OR PRIVATE.. LOLIPOP?) that had me wandering around London, wondering what everyone thinks of me laughing to myself. I mean.. what DO people listen to on their headphones? I see thousands of people listening to SOMETHING.. is it music? audiobooks (like me)? ..radio? comedy (see books) .. white noise? nope I’m running out of listing listening things to list.. en to. Is there a relation between a list and ‘list-ening’? I honestly don’t know or care (I do care, but in the backward forwardness of it all it’s more fun to keep pace with Alan slash Steve here).

‘smelly Alan Fartridge, smelly Alan Fartridge’ they called,

they certainly might have

I haven’t ‘read’ many biographies (does one class an audio-book as ‘reading’ ?), maybe that puts me in a minority who only knows life histories (real and made up) of comedians as told by themselves. I think the other childhood stories on my list are Stephen Fry’s and Simon Pegg’s, I don’t think Richard Feynman counts as a comedian although he was funny, generally more known for his contribution to physics and it’s teaching. I digress..

Or do I? I think that’s probably enough really, it’s not so much of an in depth review with spoilers, although I could do that.. it’s my diary.. and who will read it? Who indeed. Well if you got this far then obviously you, but of course if you didn’t then – if a tree falls in a forest ad nausium. I rest my case (and my tired eyes.. ) Ahaa.. ahaa indeed
