Would it be possible to keep track of phishing with a set of twitter searches, analyse the tweets with the word phishing etc. in and issue some form of early warning system?

Did I get bored of technology or did my iPhone 4 just make me completely apathetic to new releases of phones? I have to wonder about the tech news that announces endless phones and tablets, that possibly Apple isn’t actually for the device snobs, but for the people without the attention span to figure out which of the competition is actually good!

After the failing of the Google/Groupon $6BN offer, Google have announced that they have been setting up their own. It sounds like you would expect if not better.. instead of having actual people making offers with merchants, they’re probably looking to automate the process and just throw servers at it. You’d sign up online, submit the offer you’re willing to give to your potential customers, and let the computers do the rest.

I know why there are standard sizes for advertising banners on websites, but the why for the specific sizes is less clear. For example, what is the deal with the 728x90px leaderboard.. I might be living in a bubble but there’s nowhere on my site that is 728 pixels wide.

I was just flicking through Apple’s app store checking out reviews on magazine apps because I have clients who are interested in this sort of thing.. who isn’t these days. Wired magazine went from the reason to get an iPad to something to avoid..

The plan is to link to sites and describe things more than write large amounts of stuff myself, although who knows how it will pan out. I already have a contributor lined up who I’ve worked with and known for almost 20 years, so lets see how we get on.
